“See No Evil - Neighborhood Surveillance” Wheatpaste Design + Installation

I created this video & series of images during a wheatpaste installation on 40th Ave in West Nashville. Having lived in the neighborhood for about 4 years, I began to notice an increasing number of police cameras on street corners. With the assistance of some young boys from the neighborhood, I utilized a previous image I had captured of one of them and affixed wheatpaste posters onto concrete cinder blocks near a vacant lot. This project provided an opportunity not only to engage with fellow community members but also to communicate to law enforcement our awareness of their presence. It aimed to build trust and emphasize our collective vigilance for one another's safety. Despite the posters not lasting long, we managed to document the installation process before and after wheatpasting.
